Cabot Circus hotel set to open

"The new £20 million Cabot Circus hotel will open its doors next week – with some of biggest beds in the city.
The 149-bedroom Future Inns hotel in Bond Street South will boast a bar, restaurant, conference facilities and a basement jazz club.
And it will include giant Canadian designed beds. They are 6ft 11in long and 6ft 4in wide.
The hotel also has a conference suite on the top floor which can cater for up to 400 people.
After being covered in scaffolding since the beginning of the year, the colourful facade of the new Cabot Circus hotel was unveiled earlier this month.
Jenny Lockyer, spokeswoman for Future Inns, said: "The hotel will offer a bar, a unique steak and chophouse restaurant and free parking for 100 vehicles.
"The basement floor will host a jazz club, which will showcase national and local artists.
"The hotel is due to open its doors next week but we cannot give an exact date at the moment as final preparations are being made."
But the last two pieces of land earmarked for development as part of the £500 million shopping area still stand empty.
The economic downturn means it is unclear when work will start on offices planned for land next to the car park at the foot of the M32 or on a landmark building proposed for the corner of Castle Park.
In June last year, the Post revealed that a futuristic pavilion could be built at the corner of Castle Park opposite Harvey Nichols housing a cafe and other leisure facilities for shoppers and residents in Broadmead."

Other companies include the MOD, Viridor, Hewlett Packard and the Royal Mail. Filton is also home to the world's largest blood processing facility, NHS Blood and Transplant Filton.
Filton's educational facilities include Filton College, Filton High School and several primary schools. The University of the West of England is at nearby Frenchay.

Filton has two main shopping areas - the Shield Centre (on the site of the former Shield Laundry) and Abbey Wood Retail Park, as well as other shops. To the east of the town there is a small area of woodland known as Splatt's Abbey Wood.
